Missing Ingredient
V alue + W ay + Means = written strategy, a written plan, a course of action, BUT NO RESULTS.
See, it’s not the real thing. Not the full thing, anyway. It’s just an intelligent wish list.
Now, these pages of text could be the beginning of something big, but if the means are not identified, not acquired and not put to use—it’s nothing but a novel, a book, a fantasy…it’s much shorter than a novel, like a couple of pages…if you’re one of those long winded strategizers…which we’re not by the way.
This is often where types like me get stuck.
The written strategy has evocative and deep values plus brilliant insights…even an elucidation of what I need.
But…
I wouldn’t go about acquiring them.
That’s the annoying part. It just seems…so dirty. And so I sit in the lofty tower of my mind smugly basking in my brilliance while paradoxically basting in my frustration that the perfect written “strategy” has not generated the stuff ex nihilo (out of nothing) that makes it go.
It’s the talker’s lament.
Focus. Talk is cheap, back those words up with action.
