Focus means shoring up the weak links in moving in your chosen direction, but it does not mean fixing your non-fatal weaknesses.
The fact of the matter is you cannot be great at everything. Let’s be honest, it’s impossible for you to be good at many things. Let’s be even more honest, you are going to be mediocre AT BEST, at most things.
How much do you pay for mediocre things?
Not much.
How much do you pay for mediocre service?
Very little.
How much do you pay for mediocre service YOU KNOW IS GOING TO BE MEDIOCRE?
Nothing, I avoid it most of the time.
So, if you are going to be mediocre at most things, what do you gain by doing many things in your business?
I don’t understand.
What does your business gain by being mediocre, being everything to everyone?
Not much.
What do you get for trying to service everyone and every opportunity?
Very little.
How well do you think you’ll do if you stand for nothing, are identified with nothing, and are memorable for nothing because you’ve tried to take advantage of everything?
Nothing, they’ll most often avoid me…so that’s why sales are a problem hmmmm.
Focus. Average is below average.
